EXEMPTION FROM FEES. [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.) CHKISTCHURCH. Monday. The Christchurcii branch of the Amalgamated Engineering Union has recently revised its rules and 'tuis deleted all references to fines and levies. A new rule, probably the only one of its kind adopted by any trades union, provides for the exemption from payment of subscriptions bv members who are unemployed. The only condition is that each member out of employment must at least oiicfi a week notify the secretary in writing of the fact or" sign the union's unemployment book.
