The Northern Company's steamer Aupouri, which had be-in relieving the Rimu. on tho West Coast, returned to Auckland yesterday morning'. She sailed last night tor Houhoro, in place of the Waiotarn. The Southern steamer Opihi was due during the night from Lyttelton. On arrival she will berth at the Queen's Wnarf. The Australian steamer Gabrieiia mied from Hokianga at S a.m. on Sunday with a cargo of timber for Sydney. MIDDLESEX LOADING. The Federal Line steamer Middlesex arrived from Napier yesterday morning. H.M.S. CHATHAM. H.M.5 Chatham, which arrived from Wellington late on Sunday was floated into the CaUiop-S Dock yesterday morning for cleaning and general overhaul. The warship will regain in dock until the beginning o£ January. .

The New Zealand Shipping Company advises that the liner Kuapehu, which IS dua at Wellington on January 11 with passengers »nd cargo from England, has been fixed to sail from Wellington for Southampton and London on February 10. OMANA DUE SATURDAY. The Australian steamer Omana, en route from Australian porta to Auckland, was « Napier ycsWday. After discharging a part cargo at. Tauranga, the vessel 18 due at Auckland on Saturday. Cargo for this port consists of plaster and gypsum from Adelaide, timber from Newcastle, and boneauat from Sydney. THE CANADIAN CONQUEROR. The Canadian Government steamer Canadian Conqueror en route from Montreal via, Australian and' Southern ports, is expected V) leave Wellington to-day for Napier, and Auckland. She is due here about 1-riday. Besides dis< harging cargo from Canada, the vessel will loaa at this port for INew XorU, Boston, and Halifax.

WAIRUNA CLEARED SAN FRANCISCO. The Union Company's trans-Pacific Wairuna sailed from San F™ncißCO on Sui day for Auckland. She 13 bringing cargo from Pncific Coast port 3 and is due at Auckland about January 7.
