SUITABLE GTFTS.
THE PROBLEM SOLVED.
It is always difficult to decide just what to give as Christmas presents to one's friends. The following suggestions should therefore be appreciated. GIFTS FOR LADIES. Dainty handkerchiefs are always acceptable, those which meet with most favour being prettily edged with lace. Messrs. Falkncr and Co., of 282, Queen Street, specialise in these dainty little articles, and offer a wonderful selection at prices to suit everybody. Each handkerchief may be enclosed in a pretty gift envelope. Prices are as follow:—Laceedged handkerchiefs, 7d, lOd, Is 3d, 1b 6d each; choice guipure lace handkerchiefs, Is 9d, 2s 6d, 2s lid, 3s 6d, 3s lid. 4s 6d, 4s lid, 5s lid, 7u 6d each. Some of these are exceedingly beautiful samples of linen and lace. Irish linen handkerchiefs, Is 3d, 2s, 3s, 3s 6d; choice boxes of Irish linen handkerchiefs, 17s 6d box of six; "Lissue" handkerchiefs, Is 6d each; boxes of aix assorted designs, 9s; dainty boxes of three lawn handkerchiefs, 2s, 28 6d, 2s lid, 3s 6d, etc; choice boxes of guipure lace handkerchiefs, 6s lid, 10s 6d, 15s, 17s 6d, 18s 6d, un to 27b 6d. A PAIR OF SILK STOCKINGS. Ladies always appreciate a gift of silk hose. Messrs. Falkner and Co. supply these, boxed together with a pretty lace handkercbief, at 7s 6d, 10s, lis 6d, 12s 6d, 15s, 17s 6d and upwards per box, according to the value of the hosiery chosen. The stockings are in black, white, nigger, navy, suede, grey, etc. CRETONNE SUNSHADES. Cretonne sunshades are greatly in vogue, and can be obtained in all manner of quaint designs or in bright jazz effects. These are priced at 13s 6d, 14s 6d, 16s 6d, 17s 6d, etc. For elderly ladies there are very handsome black and white sunshades, and others in black moire or brocades.- A wide range of other styles and shades is ahown by Messrs. Falkner and Co.
UMBRELLAS FOR EVERYBODY. In these days of brilliant sunshine, alternating with sudden showers, umbrellas are indispensable. Messrs. Falkner arid Co. have many hundreds of umbrellas from which selection may be made. Useful umbrellas, with crook handles, 13s 6d, 17s 6d, 22s 6d, 255. 27s 6d, 32s 6d, etc. "Militairo"" umbrellas, with short handle and leather strap, are shown at 14s 6d, 16s 6d. 19s 6d, 22s 6d, 255:. 27s 6d, etc. Umbrellas with straight handles are displayed at all prices from 12s 6d to 63s each. Some very choice umbrellas are shown with coloured silk covers, in navy, green, brown, etc. Many are richly mounted in silver, and others boautifully ornamented with colou'red "eiinoid." UMBRELLAS FOR MEN. These are shown in nil styles in the ever-usefu! crook handles, from 14s 6d to 70s each. the. range for selection being exceedingly wide. The' best qualities are hcavilv mounted in silver, or made with choice* horn, ivory, or tortoise-shell handles. WALKING-STICKS. Walking-st : cks make very acceptable gifts for men. Messrs. Falkner and Co. show n. splendid selection, especially in high-ebsr. Partridge canes so beloved of men. The finest possible selection of these is di.-plaved in either • plair or mounted sticks. * Most of these are with crook handles, ' but some have plain silver heads, and look very smart.
