TAUPIRI EXTENDED MINE.

CHIEF INSPECTOR'S REPORT. [BIT TELEQRAPH. —OWN CCIUtESPONDENT.] HUNTLY. Monday On Sunday, in company with Messre. Wood, Roberts, Barclay, and Gavin, the chief Inspector of mines, Mr. J. E- A. Bayne, inspected all the stoppings sealing off tho fire area in No. 4 and No. 5 sections of tho Taupiri Extended mine. The chief inspector says: "In my opinion the sealing off has been carried out with reasonable efficiency, and provided the above stoppings aro frequently examined work can safely be resumed in No. 6 section."
