WATER REFUSED DYING MEN

At the trial of the miners in Marion, Illinois, who are charged with murder, arising out of the strilce riots in .Tune, three witnesses gave graphic details of the slaughter at Herriu, and pointed out among the defendants three men whom they saw with weapons in their hands in a group which led the strilw-brf-akec prisoners to the edge of the town, where they were later found dead. Donald Ewing, a newspaper reporter, described finding six men roped together. Three were dead and the others were dying. Witness identified one of the accused as a mfner"~wTio covered him with a gun and refused to allow him to bring water in response to the dying men's appeals.
