BOOMERDAY WINS AGAIN.

TB AWAMUTU, Saturday.
The Rotorua Racing Club's meeting was brought off At Te Awamutu to-day. The weather was showery, but there wa« a good attendance. An unfortunate accident during the running of the Rotorua Cup robbed the principal raco of a deal of interest. Intante foil shortly after the start and Forest Gold and Gold Kip were thrown out of the contest by colliding. Fortunately tho riders all escaped serious injury. The totalisator investments amounted to £20,491 10s, compared with £37,485 when tho meeting was held on tho Hamilton course. Panchito, Idealogue, John Bunny, 9.0. Silverton was favourite. In an exciting finish Mia Bella won by a neck from Miss Melva, who in turn was three lengths in advance of Raymond. Time. 2m 49 2-ss. Boomerday and Martial Dawn -were Quickest away, and the first-named showed the way out of the straight. Infante slipped and foil at this point, and Forest Gold and Gold Kip, who were racing immediately in his wake, colliding, they were brought down. Bcomorday had matt-era all his own way and won Dy two lengths, Martial Dawn defeating Sycorax by a similar distance. Time, 2m 10 2-sb. WAIMANGU HANDICAP of £150; 5 fur. Epitaph, 9.4 (R. A.R.C. SUMMER MEETING. With the arrival of the visiting division mattere at Ellerslie will be greatly enlivened. H. Cutts has reached the eceno with Sir George Clifford's lot, which comprises Winning Hit, Angelo, Top Score, and Wild Hind. 1. Quinlivan reached Ellerslie yesterday with Royal Box, Scion, and Wheatfield. F. L). Jones also arrived with Glentruin, Mustard Pot, Murihaupo, and Economist. THE SOUTHERN CONTINGENT. [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] CHRISTCHURCH. Saturday. F. D. Jones has taken four horses to Auckland. The English mare Glentruin ia the star of the team, and with Mustard Pot, Economist, and Murihaupo to assist, the Canterbury trainer should certainly be able to capture some of the prize money, for his team is in capital condition. Winning Hit has some admirers hero among good judges for the Auckland Cup. The son of Autumnus was in eplendid condition when he left here for Auckland. T. S. Gillett with Foo Chow, and E. Scoullar with Royal Star and Moorland, had arranged to leave to-night for Auckland, but the plans have been owing to troublesome railway transit from Wellington. Even now tliero is nothing definite, but it is expected that the three horses will leave here on Monday nipht. If they race at Ellerslie 1 expect Royal Star and Foo Chow to do well in the Auckland Cup, with a preference for Royal Star. Mr. G. Gould intended to send Paleetrma and Wink to Auckland, but he could not arrange satisfactory railway transit from. Wellington, and the two mares therefore will stay at home. They are both very well. WELLINGTON, Saturday. Insurrection was responsible for a solid preparation while at Trenthan, and his prospects in the Auckland Cup are much favoured in this quarter. It is understood that he will be ridden by H. Cairns. R. O'Donliell expects to leave for Auckland on Monday with bolfanello and , the Ares. Solfanollo ha-i trained on splendidly, and he is expected to be able to reproduce his best form at Ellerslie.
