COUNTRY RACING CLUBS.
Sip,— f wish to protest against the decision of the Dargaville Racing Club to hold its next meeting .it EUerslie. We are only a small community, hut have always looked forward to the annual race mteting here, where we have a nice course and cverv convenience for a sporting outing. There is great dissatisfaction here at this retrograde, step by t,he club. At one time it showed signs of moving ahead. This reversion is an unmitigated blunder, j in the opinion of manv to whom I have i spoken. Very few will attend from Parj jjnville, I am told, and 'he draper hero J will not be called upon -<■ nplv our fair ' sex with the hats and presses necessary 'for such a festival. 'he same remarks | apply to Kawakawn, wh.ch club also races at.' Ellorslie. Why do not these clubs ! applv for the use of the Christchurch or [ Wellington courses. both of which are j quite as well within reach of the average j racegoers of Dargaville!' N.W.
