Jra the Police Court David Thomas Pearson, William Edward Henderson, and ■ Walter Henry Thurlow pleaded guilty'.to bookmaking. Thurlow was fined'£7s Md Pearscp £20. , «*& . In the case of Henderson it was stated that the accused was a returned, soldier who had met injury to his spine)' and, being unable to work, took ,up bookmaking, which he had now abandoned. Mr. Bundle, S.M., said it was unfortunate that cinly the " smaller," men could be caught. It seemed useless to impost a fine for the-case. Defendant was convicted and ordered to come up for sentence if called qn. M ■
