TRADE OF THE EMPIRE.
DELEGATES TO CONFERENCE.
BUSINESS MEN WANTED. Times. LONDON. Doo. 11.
The Times, in a leader emphasising the importance of the Imperial Economic Conference to Empire trade, says: "The need of the hour is in the direction of practicable steps that can be taken immediately, rather than the evolution of political and economic systems unable to fructify for some years. For that reason it is hoped that the delegates will include a large proportion of business men and that their selection, as far as practi--1 cable, will be left to representative organisations, which have created a type of man most useful, who is not only eminent in his own business, but is able to deal on broad national grounds with other trades. The Empire can produce almost every commodity needed.
Tho Times dwells on the necessity for formulating systems for stimulating, facilitating, and extending trade, tho elimination of much official routine, and the development of the Dominion resources in raw materials.
