LIBERAL PARTY FUNDS.
OBSTACLE TO REUNION.
ACTION AT LAW MOOTED. United Service. LONDON, Dec. 11.
The question of the party funds is likely to give the mooted Liberal reunion a sudden setback, says the Daily Mail's political correspondent. Tho Ascuithians, whose funds arc comparatively insignificant, are casting covetous eyes on the Lloyd Georgian funds. Though the total of these has never been officially divulged, it is believed that they exceed £2,000,000. The Asquithians argue that the fund was subscribed for Liberal propaganda, and as the Asquithians are the predominant Liberal Party they are entitled to tho money. It is suggested that the matter should be determined in a Court of law. An adjourned meeting to discuss reunion is being held on Monday.
