CRICKET.

THE AUCKLAND ASSOCIATION. The Management Committee of tie Auckland Cricket Association met last evening. Professor H. S. .'Dettmann presiding. Mr. N. C. Sneddon was appointed captain of the Auckland representative tean. for the season, and Mr. W. Brook-Smith vice-cap-tain for the Southern tour. Messn. M. J. Flynn and J. H. Watt 3 were appointed joint managera of the touring team. It was resolved that there be no senior cricket in Auckland until January 13, owing to the absence of the touring team and of the colts' team. Tha latter has arranged to play matches at New Plymouth against Taranaki, at Hawera against Hawera, and possibly at Rangitikei. Tha present unfinished junior matches are to be concluded on January G. A one-day match is to be played by second grade teams on January 13, to bring this grado into line with the senior grade. The third and fourth grade matches will be continued on January G. C. Dac:re, who scored 120 runs last Saturday, was declared the winner of the bat presented by Messrs. A. G. Partridge for the first century in the senior grade championship matches. Dacre beat Gillespie, who scored 104 runs, by five minutes. The Auckland University team was granted permission to play Victoria Colloge, at Wellington, on December 25 and 26, subject to no objection being received from the Wellington Association.
