Tho tone of the Auckland sharemarket remained unaltered yesterday,' investment stocks being in good demand. There was general inquiry for Government securities, offers of £99 17s 6d for Soldiers' Loan bonds failing to attract a quotation from sellers. War Loans, 1938, had buyers at £96 ss, sellers £96 15s. Inscribed Stock, 1938 and 1939, were inquired for at £96, no late sellers quoting, . In banks business was done in Now Zealands at 56s 6d, late buyers offering 565, sellers 56s 9d. There were offers for New South Wales at £35, P.'and 0. Banking Corporation at £13 15s, and Union of Australia at £13 ss, no sellers quoting. In coals Taupiris sold at 18s, other buyers offering 17s 6d; sellers 18s 6d. In timbers there -wore transactions in Kauris at 275, late buyers offering 26s 6d, sellers 27s 6d. Miscellaneous stocks remained unchanged at quotations pi'actically equal to the previous day's prices. In mining Moanataiaris were inquired for at 3s 3d, sellers 3s 6d. Business was done in Waihi Grand Junctions at 10s lOd, other buyers offoring the same figure, sellers lis. Waihis, inquired for at 345, were quoted at 34s 3d. Th" following sales took place:—Bank of j<dr,\- Zealand, 66s 6d; Taupiri Coal, 18s; Kauri Timber, 275; Waihi Grand Junction, 10s lOd.
