AUCKLAND HIDE SALES.
RECENT PRICES MAINTAINED.
Prices at the Auckland hide and skin sales yesterday were, on the whole, on a par with those prevailing at the previous sale. Competition, however, was less keon for most grades of hides, particularly light and faulty. Medium and heavy ox hides brought from id to Id per lb. more than at the previous sale, heavy realising up to 9d per ib, and light from 6d to 7id. Beet cow hides realised 6Jd per lb. Light ox fetched from 6id to 6Jd; medium, 8d: medium to heavy, 9d. A few stout ox sold for la. Kip and yearling hides sold from 7d to 8?d; calf skins, la lid to Is 2Jd; cut and faulty calf skins, lOd to lid. Sheep skins, large, full-woolled, salted. broueM from 5b 4d to 6s oach; light, 8s 9d to 4s Cd. Pelts and lambskins realised from Is 6d to Is lOd each. Sound pelted dried sheepskins, full-woolled, beat grades, fi}d to 7id per lb; half-woolled, 4d to 6d; polts and short-woolled, 2d to 3d.
