THE TECHNICAL COLLEGE.

APPOINTMENTS TO FTAFF. The Board of Managers of the Seddon Memorial Technical College met yesterday, the chairman, Mr. H. S. W. King, presiding. There were also present:— Mrs. N. E. Ferner, Messrs. T. Bloodworth, S. I. Orookes, W. Manson, J. P. McPhail, H. Dearsly, W. E. Gill, W. C. Smith, and W. N. Mcintosh. Mrs. F. Carr Rollett tendered her resignation from the board on account of pressure of domestic and other affairs. The resignation was accepted with regret, a resolution being carried in appreciation of her services. Miss Dorothy E. Horton, of the Auckland Girls' Grammar School, Howe Street, was appointed assistant mistress in general subjects out of a number of applications. Miss G. McDowell, of the Technical College, Wanganui, was appointed commercial mistress. A " forward committee " was appointed to advance the interests of the college in such matters as widening the scope of the instruction and procuring the erection of an assembly hall. The following were appointed to the committee:—Mrs. Ferner, Messrs. King, McPhail, Dearsly, Mcintosh and Manson. It was decided to call tenders for the purchase of the college foundry plant, with the intention of procuring with the proceeds a smaller plant more suited to demonstration requirements. The question of instituting classes for instruction in motor repair work was again discussed, and the matter referred to the " forward committee " with power to act;
