OPOTIKI SCHOOLS' SPORTS.

CHAMPIONSHIP AWARDS. [%Y TELEGP. VPH. OWN CORRESPONDENT.] OPOTIKI, Tuesday. The school sports held on Saturday at the cricket reserve were a complete success. All the schools in the district were represented and the numerous events were keenly contested. The chief event for the day was the 100 yds. championship, which was won by J. Parkinson, of the Convent School. The school thus holds the shield presented by Mr. Harry Larmer, and Parkinson receives a gold medal presented by Mr. F. J. Short. For the shield presented by the Citizens' Committee for the school scoring the highest nunfber of points for the day, there was keen competition. The Opotiki Public School again scored the highest aggregate, and thus holds the shield for the next 12 months.
