LAWN TENNIS.
LADY CHAMPION. MISS CURTIS INDISPOSED. The New Zealand lady tennis champion Miss Nancy Curtis, of Wellington, has had a breakdown in health and will not be seen at the New Zealand championships at Hastings at Christinas. Miss Curtis ha 3 officially advised the New Zealand Lawn Tennis Aesociation that her medical adviser has ordered her to take three or four months' spell from the game, otherwise, ehe may permanently injure her health. There is, fortunately, nothing seriously wrong with the lady champion, apart from the fact that she h&s become run down. _A spell from the game and a good rest, it is hoped, will see her as we'l as ever again. No one is more disappointed at this ste.m medical fiat than Miss Curtis herself, who wa3 keenly looking forward to the championships, and the pheasant task of defending her title, as well as to meeting the New. South Wales ladie3 j once again across the nets.
