GOLF.
MAUNGAKIEKIE CLUB. THE ANNUAL REPORT. The report to be presented at the annual meeting of the Maungakiokie Golf Club states that a profit oi £'413 has been made. The membership roll ehowa /that the club is the largest in the Dominion.. There are 218 lady playing members, 269 men, 58 junior, and 135 other members, a total of 680. The Titirangi links have been in splendid order throughout the season, and have proved very popular with members. The full course will be open for'play during the summer month*. A special committee has been appointed to lay out a permanent course that will diminish congestion, and provide, if possible, two starting places in- close proximity to the pavilion. Tho Maungakieki© links were not an as good order as usual for the 'first' hr*f of the season. This -was. largely due to the : difficulty of coping with the' excessive growth lof grass in tho autumn, but a new mower I ha 3 been imported which should successfully . deal with this in the future- The ueual ! eumraer course will bo open- for play. The I standard of play in tho club is steadily improving. Mr. R. D. Wright is to Bel congratulated en winning the Auckland championshij). and it is gratifying to. find bo many of thp younger players. winning trophies 'in tht» club competitions. The principal- prize winners during the.season were:—Championship : Men's senior. R. M. George; men's iunior. F. C. Ev/en; ladies' sen : or (Murray Bowl), Miss T. I. Bayly; ladies' junior, Mias P. B. Coutts. ,
