IRISH REBELS DEFIANT.
PREPARING FOB A COTJP.
CAMPAIGN IN DUBLIN.
PASSENGER TRAIN WRECKED By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. (Received 7.30 p.m. A. and N.Z. DUBLIN. Nov. 13. The rebels aro about to attempt a coup which may re-establish conditions resembling those that prevailed previous to the truce of 1921. Already a sinister increase of activity is observed. The rebels are apparently strengthened by bold, determined men fresh from the fighting provinces. The numerical strength of the rebels in Dublin is not known. They have initiated a campaign which reveals that their persistence is not affected by reverses elsewhere. During the week-end they partially wrecked a passenger train travelling from Dublin to Bellina. There were no deaths, but many people wero injured. Stations were destroyed and a bridge between Longford and Ca-van was blown up. Do Valera sent a message to an Irish convention in Glasgow indicating that the rebels are determined to pursue their, campaign. Ho says; "It is better to prevent the consummation of a wrong than to allow a wrong to be completed. No power can compel our allegiance if wo refuso to give it. Without Irish aid aud co-operation not all the resources of England conld make the King's writ rim through Ireland. What wo cannot wrest back of our own from England she may have; let her keep it temporarily. We must not give her title to any part that is not hers. Wo must not make it hers by our own deed."
