ALLEGED GAMING HOUSE.

THREE PERSONS CHARGED. EACH REMANDED' ON BAIL. Charges laid under the Gaming Act were preferred against three persons in the Police Court yesterday before Mr. J. E. Wilson, S.M. Thomas Ross, aged's2, and a young woman, aged 21, were charged with having kept a common gaming house at Ellison Chambers The magistrate ordered that the female accused'? name be withheld from publication for the present. James Edward Burtenshaw, -aged 22, was charged with having assisted in the management of the gaming house. Ross and Burtenshaw were further charged with having used ! the bar of the Commercial Hotel as a | common gaming house. Mr. Waddingham j appoared for the accused. On the application of Senior-Detective Cummings, the three accused were remanded till Friday. Bail was fixed at £100 in each case.
