ACTIVITIES OF EXECUTIVE. ! ADVICE ,TO SETTLERS. The executive of the Auckland Resumed Soldiers' Association met last evening, the chairman, Mr. E. W. Inder, presiding.. , . ,'/'•< , A A letter was received from the secretary of the Auckland Provincial Fanners' .Union stating that the union, acting under instructions from the Dominion executive, intended to appoint two ' experienced /members as honorary advisors to soldier settlers. The 'duties of the advisors would be. to visit settlers and advise them on methods of farming and general matter? The union asked the association to name the districts in which the advisors would be most conveniently located. It was de cided to refer the matter to a committer for report, and to thank' the Farmers' Union for its offer. In response to the union's offer, it was decided ,to. nominate Major M. Aldred as the association's re presentative on the provincial executive, of the Farmers' Union. • : A petition was received .from 21 patients in the Evelyn' Firth Home, Parnell, asking the association to secure certain privileges to them as 100 per cent.^disability men. The patients asked for free 'tramway passes, free suburban railway passes, and for the inauguration of a motor-car service on two days ja - week from the ' home to the top of St, Steuben's-Avenue. It was stated that many of the men were spina! Cases, and unable to walk up the,hill to the tram. The matter was referred to a suh committee to take immediate fiction

Authority was sought by a lady correspondent to raise £500 in the name of the association to finance, an ind'nsllry. .for returned soldiers at Maketu, Bap of Plenty. If was proposed that the men'should suuplr fish and vegetables to Potorua. The matter was referred to a subcommittee.
