RIFLE-SHOOTING.

AKAKANA CLUB. The final shoot of the Akarana Bifle dub. for trophies presented by Messrs. F. H. Combes. R. H. Abbott, and G. G. Ashley, was fired at Penrose on Saturday, at the 500 yds and 600 yds ranges. The wind was extremely tricky, but several good scoreß were registered at the 600 yds, the beßt being 48 by W. Colquhoun and K. Spencer. Good scores at the 600 yds range were few and far between. G. G. Ashley compiled a fine 47, and scoured first place, thus placing himself with 8 points in an unassailable position for Mr. F. H. Combes trophy. P. O. Veale was runner-up;* with In the' B eootion. J. B. Torbet took the silver spoon for a. creditable 90. A. Wallace, with 2 points for second place, comSleted the largest aggregate .(8 points) for Lr. Abbott's trophy. Captain Krotschmar being next with 6 points. v _ ■ The C section trophy was won by T. C. Thomson with 7 points. D. W. Malcolmson and Lieutonant R. Tilsley were joint runners-up with 4 points each. The silver spoon in thia section went to K. R. Spencer, who compiled 89. Spenoer just failed .to win, in addition, Mr. Colauhoun's special trophy for the first score of over 90 in the C seotion.
