AUSTRALIAN TARIFF.

DEPRECIATED CURRENCIES.

Several amendments in the reciprocal tariff with Australia have been made, and come into force to-morrow. The duty on potted and preserved meats, at present 20 per cent, ad .valorem, has been altered to 2d per lb. in both the*-Aus-tralian and the New Zealand tariffs. Sheets and roofing slates composed of cement and asbestos or of similar materials are to pay 10 per cent, in both countries, instead "of 20 per cent. Curd-agitators and curd-mixers are added to the free list. ■ -■ ■■ ■ Corn millet brooms are added to the special tariff, the rate in both countries being 30 per cent. An Order-in-Council has been gazetted exempting from the depreciated currency duties goods being the produce or manufacture of Denmark, Greece, Norway, Spain and Ifcily. ' .
