TAXATION ON RACING.
TROTTING CLUB'S PAYMENT. d&245 ON SPRING MEETING. The sum paid to the Government by the Auckland Trotting Club in taxation on the spring meeting held at Alexandra Park last Saturday and Wednesday was £8245 lis lid, made up as follows:— Totaliaator tax, £2555 6s 9d; tax stakes, £645; dividends tax, £4617 19s; tax gates, £71 18a sd; tax booths, etc., £7 lis lOd; amusement tax, £337 15s lid.
