P. jLee f -mdved the second reading of the -Crimes Amendment Bill, the provisions : of.- which deal with offences against VbmenV -The Minister explained that "these load been asked for by women's gocietd*^'all over New Zealand. Wilford, leader of the .Opposition, said that, with 30 years' experience .of the,criminal Courts, ho supported the Bill with the exception of the (Tub-section which extended the period in, which a prosecution could be laid r - from six" months to nine months. As the law stood -at six months, it was a prolific cause of 'blackmail, and would become mora so if the period were extended. -The Hon. J. A.
