RETURN OF LONG SKIRT.
THREAT TO TRIM FEET.
What are women going to do about their feet and ankles, now that the question of showing or not showing them has arisen once more?
"A Thoughtful Woman," writing in the Daily Mail, alluded to the threatened return of the long skirt—and its effect on pretty ankles and trim feet. "It is a matter of vast importance," she said. "I surest a ballot be taken among all women."
Mr. Edward Gerrett, the court shoemaker, expressed the view that within the last three or four years women had taken greater care of their feet and footwear. "They take as much care," he said, "in choosing their shoes as they do their hats—perhaps more—and they spend quite, as long. The woman of to-aay lias found the means of making her feet and ankles so attractive that she is not going to hide them from the world." But, as "A Thoughtful Woman" said, the long skirt might be a boon to some. Even the trimmest of shoes and the silkiest of stockings cannot hide "feet of cip.y" from the most charitably minded.
