248 MILES AN HOUR. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association (B©cd. 9.5 p.m.) NEW YORK, Oct. 16. At Moumt Clemens, Michigan, Lieutenant B. L. Maughan established an aeroplane speed record by travelling at the rate of 248J miles an hour.
