BIRKENHEAD LOAN SCHEME.
RATEPAYERS' POLL TO-DAY.
A poll is to be held at Birkenhead today in connection with six loan proposals, aggregating £98,500. Of , this sum £40,000 is for drainagp. for which ft special area has been defined. The other proposals are for whole borough, and comprise electricity, fire brigade equipment, and water supply extensions, motor-bus service, and street and footpath construction. The polling hours will be from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. There are four polling places, as follows • —Mr. E. storeroom, Hinemoa Street, Birkenhead; Council Chambers, Birkenhead; Sugar Works. Chelsea; Methodist Schoolroom, Birkdale.
