The Piako County Council met yesterday. .Mr. Whitechurch, Tahuna Riding member of the Hauraki Plains County Council, attended in support, of the proposal to transfer Tahuna Hiding to tho jurisdiction of the Piako Council. The chairman, clerk, and uolicitor to the Piako County will confer with the Hauraki Plains Council at Ngatea shortly. It was decided to hold a special meeting next week to go more fully into the matter of the roading scheme and the Waiorongomai ouarry, and also to deal with the position that has arisen in connection with the concreting of Stanley Road, tho cost of that work having far exceeded tho original estimate. It was proposed. to suspend operations at once, but as there is a supply of cement on hand it was decided to continue concreting until the cement is used up, when probably the balance of work will be let by contract, the council supplying the necessary metal.
