ABUNDANCE OF FEED.
EFFEOT OF RECENT RAINS.
WHOLE PROVINCE BENEFITS.
The recent seasonal rains have had the effect of greatly stimulating pasture throughout the Auckland Province. Reports from the Waiknto indicate that there is a great flush of feed in the various localities and a heavy growth of grass is assured for the spring months. King Country districts have had a similar experience, while in the North rains almost to flood volume have fallen in the lowlying districts, where crops have been more or less inundated, though no serious damage has been reported. On the other hand, pasture has greatly benefited from tho downpour. Stock is thriving, and an excellent season is anticipated.
The growth of grass consequent on the rains will greatly help butter production, while benefiting the crops that have been planted!. Farmers ehould be (afforded opportunities for harvesting good crops of ha.y, so that an abundance of winter feed may be expected. Ab a matter of fact the present season is very similar to the two J receding ones, which were remarkable or the Hush of spring feed. The two past seasons were so stood in many districts that hay crops which had been stacked were not required for use. Pastures have also benefited from the heavy frosts which have been experienced this winter. Aa a result of the rest given to them they are now manifesting a stronger, growth after the recent warm rains.
