THE FISHING SEASON. [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] TAURANGA. Monday. The trout fishing season in the Tauranga Acclimatisation Society's district opens on November 1. There are prospects for good sport in a number of the rivers. Messrs. L. H. McAlpine and Forbes Ea&ie, organisers of the Farmers' Union, have lately addressed a number of meetings in the district, with the result that many names have been added to the mem. bership of the union. The final session of community singing was held on Friday night. A consignment, of 30 000 trout fry was brought from Roiorua_ last week and dis tributed in the local rivers. Another con signment is expected this week. TTie officers of H.M.S. Veronica wen taken on a motor drive round the dij. trict on Saturday.
