BOROUGH OF ONEHUNGA.
SMALL LOAN TO BE RAISED.
The Onehnnga Borough Council met last evening, the Mayor. Mr. J. Parle, presiding. There were also present Messrs. McColl, Ainsworth. Cowell. Morton. Baker, Gilbert, and Li.scombeA deputation from the Citizens' Committee asked that lavatories be provided at Jellicoe Park. Aa the cost waa estimated at £500, it waa decided that the work could not be undertaken at present.
The Mayor reported that, as a result of his visit to We-lington. the liinister for Finance had sanctioned I;he raising of a lean, not to exceed £3000, to provide work for certain of the council's employees who otherwise would have to be dismissed. The Mayor and town clerk were authorised to arrange tor the loan. . 'lha proposal to treat with bitunen the portion of Queen Street which -vas not concreted was deferred pending the result of ne otiations with tho City Council with regard to the duplication of the tram tracks.
