MONTROSE DRAGS ANCHORS.

"UNPLEASANTLY CLOSE TO ROCKS."

During the fierce northerly gale at WeiHngton on Thursday morning, the largo cargo steamer Montrose dragged her anchors in the stream so that she drifted down upon the Point Jerningham lighted buoy, which was so damaged that it had to be lifted for repairs. The Montrose was unpleasantly close to the rocks at the entrance to Evans Bay before her engines pulled her up.
