THE ANGLICAN SYNOD.
ENJOYABLE GARDEN PARTY. GATHERING AT BISHOPSCOURT. The members of the Auckland Anglican Synod, with their wives and friends, were the guests of [Bishop Averill and Mrs. Averill at a garden party at Bishopscourt on Saturday afternoon. The Mayor, Mr. J. H. Gunson, and Mrs. Gunson were also present. The weather kept fairly fine during the afternoon, and an enjoyable time was spent. Musical selections wore played by tho City Mission Band. Yesterday was observed as Synod Sunday in tho city and suburban churches. Visiting clergymen occupied many pulpit*. Bishop Averill preached at St. Luke's Church, Mount Albert, in the evening.
