TAXATION OF COMPANIES.
PETITION TO NEW ZEALAND.
DOUBLE INCOME TAX RELIEF. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association(Reed 5.5 p.m.) LONDON, Oct. 13. Sir Francis Bell received a deputation Nfrom ,the New Zealand and Australian Agents' Association, which urged the necessity of reducing the heavy taxation on companies having head offices in London, and asked that the New Zealand Government sanction the proposals of tho New Zealand Taxation Committee, particularly the removal of the double income tax and the adoption of the individual system of taxation. The deputation pointed out that some companies were taxed to the extent of lis 9d in the pound in addition to the British Corporation profits tax. Sir Francis Bell promised to lay the deputation's views before the Government. He said that he and the Government recognised that the companies represented were doing good work for the Dominion, and instead of crippling them by taxation their suggestions should receive consideration as far as practicable.
