THE WHANGAREI MEETING. STORK WINS LEADING EVENT. [BY TKXJJGEAJPH. —OWN COERESPONDENT.] WHANGAREI. Saturday. The Whangarei Racing Club's Spring Meeting was concluded to-day. At the opening the weather was dull and showers fell, but it improved steadily and afforded ideal conditions for the races. There was a large attendance, which was equal to the best of recent years. The totalisator investments were £16,423. which gave a grand total of £27,579 for the two days—£6Bl3 10s less than last year's meeting. The race track had improved considerably since Thursday, and the meeting passed off moat successfully, reflecting much credit on the president, Mr. R. G. Hosking. and the secretary. Mr. B. Harris. Three furlongs from home Mimiwhangata gave place to Tom Moore, but came again down the straight, and in a great finish Tom Moore won by a neck from Mimiwh&ng&ika. with Bezant, a head behind, third.
