MISHAP ON THE RAILWAY.
TRUCK DERAILED AT DRURY;
MAIN TRUNK TRAIN DELATED.
The derailment at Drnry of a truck and a van on the goods train that leaves Auckland at 4 a.m. caused some delay in the arrival of passengers by the Maui Trunk express on Saturday morning, trrf« fie being interrupted for about four hours. The goods train was taking the locp line at Drury with a shunter holding the' points, when a truck near the end of the • train, carrying a number of long and heavy girders, left the rails just as it was going on to the siding. The truck; cap- '] sized, and with the van immediately behind, was badly derailed, both, falling across the main lino. / -.._ The Main Trunk express, which arrived at Drury at 5.50, was unable. ,ti> jrefc through, so a train was despatchec! from Auckland, to which passengers and fci|gage were transferred. The relief, tram. ■ reached jthe city a little before jrine o'clock, two and a-half hours later than the express should have arrived. Emergency gangs were immediately despatched to Drury, and the line cleaned shoiilly after ten o'clock, the Rotorua exprm getting through with but little delay.
