AMERICAN BLACK BASS.

INTRODUCTION MOOTED,,

A suggestion that American black bass might with advantage be introduced into New Zealand streams was contained in a letter from a. resident of Bay of Plenty which waa read at the. meeting of the Auckland Acclimatisation Society. It was stated that the black bass was a good fighting fish and would afford both excellent sport and a welcome change of diet to country people out of reach of these things at present. The suggestion was approved by several members of the society, and further information with regard to the fish is to be obtained from Professor Prince of the Canadian Fisheries Department.
