THE COMING FASHIONS.

FIGURE FABRICS POPULAR. LONDON, Sept. 29. " Plain fabrics," says the fashion correspondent of the Times, " are not going to have the supremacy at the autumn dress shows. Figure fabrics, from cloque and matelasse to corded jacquard, velours and duvetyns, will be the most popular. The simplicity which these fabrics lack will be found" in the lines of the moment and in the wonderful embroideries. " Several of the prettiest evening dresses have little ' Modesty Capes,' part berthe and part sleeve. A, striking rose velvet gown, made on picture lines, has a deep Victorian berthe of metal lace across the back. It is low in front and at the sides. Trains figure on many evening dresses, but dance frocks are made with fuller skirts and on picture imes.
