The Federal steamer Westmoreland, en route from Wellington to London and West of England ports, arrived at Monte Video on September 23 and sailod the same day in continuation of her voyage. Keid, arrived from Montreal yesterday morning and berthed sit tho King's Wharf. Sao sailed from Montreal on August 29 and cleared Panama on September 11. Fine weather was expeirenced until September 2S, when gales were experienced, with the wind varying betweem west-north-west and west-south-west. The stormy weather lasted, for jive days and delayed tho vessel considerably. The cargo totals about 4000 tons, and consists mostly of rolls of paper and motor-cars a« well as a Quantity of general merchandise. About 1300 tons is for Auckland and the remainder will be discharged at, Wellington. Ljvttelton, Dunedm, Melbourne and Sydney. The Montrose is owned by the Australind Steamship Company of London, and usually trades between London, America, and Australia, PORT AUCKLAND ARRIVES. VESSEL'S MAIDEN VOYAGE. Tho Commonwealth and Dominion Line's now steamer Port Auckland arrived from Now York on Saturday morning and berthed at the Queen's Whart. The vessel, which is on her maiden voyage, was built at Workman, Clark, and Company's shipbuilding yard, Belfast. She was completed in July and sailed from Belfast on August 5 for Glasgow and New York. At tho latter port ISOO tons of cargo was loaded for discharge at Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton. Dunedin, Melbourne and Sydney. She cleared New York on September 8 and Panama on September 15. Fine weather was experienced on tho voyage with the exception of two days' stormy weather near Pitcairn Island. The Port Auckland is a sistor ehip to the bow steamer Port Campbell, which arrived at Auckland from New York on August 05. Both vessels have accommodation for 12 passengers. They have straight atoms and cruiser etenvs, and are driven by twin-screw reciprocs.tory engines. They can burn oil fuel or "coal as desired. Cargo is carried in five jolds, of which three are insulated to carry fiozen produce. The Port Auckland is 500 ft. bug with a 62ft. beam and a. 36ft. depth. Sho can carry 11,000 tons on a 29ft. Sin. draught, and is capable of eteaming 14 knots. On her present voyage she averaged 13.2 knots. Captain E. D. Beck, formerly of tho Port Bowen. is in command of tho Port Auckland, and has with him the following officers:—Chief, Mr. J. Ferns: | second. Mr. H. E. third. Mr. W. ; W. Renouf; fourth. Mr. J. W. D«f?y: second, "Sir. G. Cowan; chief steward. Mr. D. B. Gilbert: wireless operator. Mr. -T. Bramley; assistant. Mr. P. Austin. The vessel also carries four cadets. As she has only about 600 tons, of cargo for this port she will probably sail to-morrow in continuation of her voyage.
