ESCAPING FROM CUSTODY.
MAN FATALLY SHOT. A man named John Kelly, who was shot near Sunny Corner, Bathurst, on August 23, while attempting to escape from custody, died ira hospital last week. In hi* dying depositions Kelly stated that he was 23 years of age, and a native of Baulkham Hills, His mother was dead and he did not know where his father was. Kelly further stated that the constable called on him in the King's name to stop, but he thought he could get clear. He admitted having stolen the two horses upon which charge he was being apprehended at the time of the shooting.
