CITY'S WORKS OF ART. APPLICATION FOE LOAN. The question of the City Council assisting the Advisory Committee of the British Empire Exhibition to make an attractive show of works of art specially illustrative of New Zealand, by lending for exhibition some of the pictures in its possession, came before the council .last evening. A report by the chief librarian recommended that as the, request. involved a question of policy it be referred to the Library Committee for consideration.
