ADVERTISING HOARDINGS.

QUESTION OF DESIRABILITY. RESIDENTIAL AREAS OF CITY Three applications for permission to erect hoardings for advertising purposes, the granting of which had been recommended to the City Council by the Wofks Committee, were referred back to the committee for further consideration. Several members of the council expressed the opinion that the erection of hoardings should not be permitted in residential areas. The committee was requested to frame a recommendation' as to the desirability of prohibiting hoardings in certain areas of the city.
