DROWNED IN RIVER.
RECOVERY OF BODY. fBY TELEQRJLPH. OWN CORRESPONDENT.] WHANGAREI. Sunday. Tho body of Samuel George Brown, a returned officer, who was drowned at Whakapara on Friday, was found this morning. An inquest will be held tomorrow. Interment, with military honours, will take place on Tuesday. j An eyewitness of tho drowning states that the deceased swam across the river to refloat a log which had caught on the opposite bank and, after dvjng bo. attempted to swim back again. On tfcu way ho disappeared from view.
