At Oyster Bay, Long Island, the United Siajgs won the international series of six-metre yacht races on totfc] points, scoring 111 to Britain's 104. though the British yacht Coila won the first pkes in the fifth and sixth races. The Coila's total of 36 points was the highest individual score.
