MAKING CLEAN ROLLS.

Another question regarding names having been left olf the main rolls was put in the House to-day by Mr. J. Edie (Bruce). He said he had just obtained a new Clutha roll and had found that five members of his family had not been included. They should, he said, have been transferred from the Bruce roll. Other names also had been left off. The Prime Minister said he was glad the matter had been mentioned. Such references would show electors the necessity for giving their personal attention to the matter of seeing that their names were on the rolls. There was a great deal to be said for having a clean roll, but he would not like to have the other extreme and the names of the electors who should be on left off. He again pointed out that those who could show that they had voted in the electorate at the last election could vote again, even if their names were not on the roll. He was in daily communication with the electoral officers and would make a statement regarding the position in a few days. Mr. J.
