TO-DAY'S FORECAST.

GOVERNMENT REPORT.

The Government meteorologist reported last night as follows: —Present indications are for strong easterlies northward of Kawhia and East Cape, moderate to strong south-easterly winds prevailing elsewhere. Squally conditions and heavy showers are probable in northernmost districts, and cold, changeable weather generally with scattered showers along the east coast. The barometer is unsteady in the far North, and there will be little improvement at present elsewhere.

MR. C. L. WRAGGE'S FORECAST. The following weather forecast was supplied to us by Mr. Clement L. Wragge, at 7.30 p.m. ' yesterday:—-High pressure covers most parts of the country while Antarctio low-pressure waves are to the eflst of Gisborne and a tropical disturbance appears to he in low latitudes between the North Cape and Fiji. This means cold and cloudv weather with intervening clearing skies, "but some rain is likely in the northern and East Coast parts of tho North Island. Winds between southeast and north-east. Rough seas with decrease of latitude from the parallel of 38 degrees. Generally speaking, the prospects for the week-end may be regarded as favourable.
