RELIEF FOR ARMENIANS.

FOOD AND CLOTHING. FREE TRANSPORT WANTED. [BS TELEGRAPH.— SPECIAL REPORTER.] WELLINGTON. Wednesday. Government assistance in the matter of giving facilities for the transport of food and dothine co'lected in the Dominion for t'ue relief" of the Armenians, was sought in the House to-day, when Mr. J. A. Nash (Palmerston) said" an organisation had representatives visiting various parts of the Dominion collecting the material, and he wished to know whether the Government would carrv the goods free of charge on tho railways" and make arrangements for their conveyance to Australia. Ha mentioned that" Australia had agreed to send a ship with 4000 tons of produce to the Armenians, and the New Zealand organisation was desirous of sending its contribution by the same vessel. The Prime Minister said he had already agreed to give free carriage on the railways, and as soon as he knew what quantity of eoods it was proposed to forward ha would get in touch with the shipping companies, and endeavour to make the desired irrangements.
