PALMERSTON NIORTH CONTEST [BY TELICGUAPH.—PBKSS AB.SOCIATION.J PALMERSTON NOKTH, Wednesday. A professional boxing contest of 15 rounds between Cann (Wanganui), 8.8, and Kid Harris (Palmerston North)' 8.9, for a purse of £75 was won by Cann on points fairly easily, although it provided some capital boxing. Amateur bouts resulted: Taeters (WangUnui) 7.4, beat Forward (Aramoho), 7.6; Clinton (Palnjerston North), 8.7* beat Howe (Wanganui), 8.7; Lockett (Wanganui), 10.5, beat Edwards (Palmerston North), 10.9; Young (Wanganui), 12.8, beat Corbctt (Palmerston North), 11.0. An exhibition bout of four rounds, no decision, was fought between Digger Brown (Invencargill), 10.10, ex-welter-weight champion, and George Thomas (Wanganui), 10.0.
