Mr. V. R. Meredith, Crown solicitor, is at present suffering from a slight indisposition.
Mr. A. D. Park, secretary of the Marina Department, has returned' to Wellington from a visit to Nelson.
Mr. A. B. Swezey, manager of the San Francisco branch of the Cunard Line, arrived at Wellington by the Maunganui.
Mr. L. Shephard, of Hamilton, Mr. C. H. Burnett, of Wanganui, and Mr. c! Cooper, of Thames, are at the Royai . Hotel.
Mr. T. H. Meadowcraft, of Wellington, Mr. A. Rose, of Christchurch, and Mr. J. F. Jack, of Wanganui, are at the Star Hotel.
The Hon. E. W. Alison, M.L.C., who has been indisposed for some time, proceeded to Helensville yesterday, accompanied by Mrs. Alison.
Major Charles Roderick Carr, D.F.C., R.A.F., airman with the Antarctic expedition on the Quest, was born in Feil ding and educated at Wellington College.
Mr. W. Fogwell. the well-known sculler, has resigned the position of caretaker at Lake Kanicri for the Westland Acclimatisation Society, and is going to Australia.
Mr. C. J. Talbot, grand master for New Zealand of the Order of Oddfellows, has been paying a visit of inspection to the lodges in the Bay of Plenty and Gis. borne districts.
Mr. Guy Norman Morris was admitted yesterday as a solicitor of the Supreme Court by Mr. Justice Herdman, on the motion of Mr. E. W. Inder. Mr. Morris, who is a native of Queenstown, Otago, was for soma years in the Justice Department, but has been on loan to the Cook Island Administration. He now occupies the position of Resident Commissioner and Judge of the High Court of Niue.
