FOXTON. Monday.
A valedictory banquet was tendered-to- 1 Mr. Edward Newman, M.P., to-night, - followed by a public meeting, which was' largely attended. Among those present were the Prime Minister, the Hon. WNbsworthy, and Sir Thomas MacKenzie, - and about 12 members of the House or Representatives. Ail the speakers mad» appreciative references to Mr. Newman . and regretted his los/iTo Parliament. Mr. Linklater, the new Reform. «n* . didate in place of the retiring member, was introduced by the Prime Minister and was cordially received.
